Dear Friends:

July was a busy month and we're moving full speed ahead into August! Here's a recap:

A crowd of over 300 people attended my annual shrimp boil. With good food, good music, and good company, the event was a great success! Meanwhile, many people turned out to hear Houston Mayor Bill White, a candidate for United States Senate, who stopped in Corpus Christi and gave a rousing speech.

And with Rep. Abel Herrero, I hosted a town hall meeting for all Corpus Christi residents to discuss the results of the 81st Texas Legislative Session. Soon after, I spoke to teachers, administrators, and parents at the Tuloso Midway Education Foundation's Igniting the Spirit event.
